How do I book an appointment as a new client? 

Please fill out our digital consultation form. Once submitted, your request will be responded to in 24-48 hours. You will then receive a booking link with exactly what service you will be booking for. A card on file is required as well as a $50 deposit to secure your appointment slot, the deposit will go towards the final cost of your service.
Please see our cancellation policy to understand the terms of your appointment. 

How do I book an appointment as an existing client?

What color service should I book?

Here is a breakdown of the color services and what they mean: 

Single Process Color- this is the color that is applied to the roots. Whether we are covering/tinting greys or deepening your root color, this is the service you would choose. 

* Haircut/blowout is booked separately. 

Full Head Single Process - this service includes a root color (as mentioned above) as well as a color to apply to the rest of your hair (root down). Please note, this color does not lighten the hair, if you want your hair lighter please see the custom creative color category). The end color is to tone, remove unwanted pigments, or darken the hair. 

Gloss - aka glaze aka toner - this service is to tone down unwanted pigments and accentuate the color we want. It can deepen hair color as well and is applied all over. It also seals and adds shine. 

Custom Creative Color- this service includes all lighting and/ or blonding services and all services, products, and tools that go with it. For example, if you want a half head of balayage you will book for a Half Head Custom Creative Color. If you want a Half Head Balayage but also need a Single Process and Shine Coat, you will book for a Full Head Custom Creative Color. If you are unsure, don’t worry, most of the time I will be telling your exactly what you’ll be booking for! Still not sure? Just Reach out to me! Please note this service does not come with a blowout and that must be booked as a separate appointment**

Why is a custom color booked and charged hourly? 

Hourly pricing allows me to focus on just your hair during our entire appointment. The hair artistry we are whipping up nowadays is much different from 5 years ago and beyond. It takes time, strength, and knowledge to achieve these results. This also allows me to utilize all the tools I may need to use during our appointment and saves you as the client from all the add-on services that may need to be added to achieve said result. A custom creative color starts from 2 hours and up, most half heads are 2-3 hours and most full heads are 3-4 hours. I will let you know after our consultation what I think the hours will be but they are subject to change once you are in my chair. 

What is your holistic service menu about? 

Our holistic service menu is composed of carefully curated, non-toxic treatments to focus on the health of your scalp and your hair. We believe the hair and scalp should be treated through a holistic lens and the issues we have with our hair are usually connected to a root issue that needs to be addressed. While I am not a doctor, I am happy to speak to you about internal shifts you can make as well as recommend you to holistic healthcare practitioners. What I can do is use all-natural, gentle yet effective treatments to support whatever issue may be taking place. We use organic herbs, flowers, cold-pressed oils, organic apple cider vinegar and more to give your scalp and hair the ritual it's been missing. Over the past few years, I have been studying herbalism and applying it to hair and skin practices, and the results are amazing, refreshing and something you can really make your own and incorporate into your routine no matter how busy you are. It's important to connect to nature and what better way to do so than through our unique services.

What if I want a curly cut?

Please book your curly cuts under the service “Haircut and Style”. Come with your hair dry and in its natural state with as little product as possible. We will determine if it’s best to be cut dry or wet during your consultation. The style includes a curly set with diffusing. Please reach out if you have specific questions. 

What if I am not happy with my hair? 

If you are not 100% happy with your hair, please reach out to me asap. If you are unhappy we will have an in-depth consultation to determine exactly what is not right and what we need to do to fix it. We always want our clients to be happy and confident in their hair and because of that, we offer a redo appointment within 14 days of your original appointment at no charge. It must be within 14 days because hair is always changing and growing, anything after that time we cannot accommodate for free.

What is Primal Hair + Skin?

Primal Hair + Skin is a product line formulated by Erika. There is a ton of love and care that go into these products that are small-batch handmade, making them a unique addition to your hair and skin rituals. Formulated with organic herbs, flowers, and cold-pressed oils they are gentle yet effective and safe for all skin types. Can your products help with Hair Loss?

Hair Loss can happen for many reasons, and while MOST of them are internal, there are topical ways we can aid the problem. Just remember that until the root issue of the hair loss is found (internally) these will be a bandaid on the real issue. However, Topical products used alongside lifestyle changes like proper nutrition,  vitamin. Mineral and water intake can be completely magical and transformative!


I have an Oily Scalp, will this work for me?

Skin conditions, like an oily scalp happen for many reasons, and while most of them are internal, there are topical ways we can aid the problem. Just remember that until the root issue of the scalp condition is found which is always internal this will be a bandaid on the real issue. However, Topical products used alongside lifestyle changes like proper nutrition, vitamin, mineral and water intake can be completely magical and transformative! I highly recommend brushing your hair daily If you have an oily scalp to help distribute the natural oils to the rest of your hair. This will help evenly disperse the oil and moisturize your ends!


Will these products help with my dandruff?

Dandruff, eczema and other skin conditions happen for many reasons, and while most of them are internal, there are topical ways we can aid the problem. Just remember that until the root issue of the scalp condition is found which is always internal this will be a bandaid on the real issue. However, Topical products used alongside lifestyle changes like proper nutrition, vitamin, mineral and water intake can be completely magical and transformative! Dandruff can show up on oily or dry scalps, if you have dandruff but have more inflammation, flakiness and dryness circle back to Calm Down ACV Rinse.


I have oily skin, should I still use an oil cleanser?

If you haven't tried Oil cleansing your face, this is your sign to start! Some benefits of Oil Cleansing are a deep but gentle way to cleanse away impurities such as makeup, dirt, and oil. In this case Oil attracts Oil! Eases inflammation caused by skin conditions, sensitivities, and acne. Great for all skin types, Check our ingredients to see if this is right for you! Applying our Botanical Beauty Oil to damp skin will act as a lightweight moisturizer, put it on before bed, in the morning and/or under your makeup for best results!


What do I do if I have some allergies?

Please be sure to check our ingredients list first upon purchasing. Each of our products have a unique formula and different all natural, organic ingredients, in each one. You can view the ingredients before purchasing your items.


Do you offer refunds if it doesn’t work for me?

Like all natural products, it takes time for our cleansers and oils to show improvement.
Due to the nature of our all natural products, we currently do not accept any refunds or exchanges. However if you do run into an issue, please send us an email at erika@primalhairandskin.com and we will find the best solution for you.

All Primal Products are made with the highest quality, real ingredients. It is important to store them properly and read ingredient list to make sure you are not allergic to any of the plants or oils that are included. You are the sole operator of your body and in the end what you put on your scalp, body and hair is your choice and responsibility.
