Jojoba Oil

JoJoba Oil is the closest oil to the natural sebum our bodies produce. Meaning our skin will drink this stuff up and not leave a greasy residue behind. The same goes for our scalp! It is low in PUFA, which is an important part of scalp and skin health. Pufa oils have a high risk of oxidation when it is exposed to heat resulting the risk of compromising the skin or hair and causing cellular damage. Jojoba oil is high in vitamin A, C, D, and E as well as important minerals that help maintain skin moisture and glow.

 

Red Clover

Red Clover is a natural DHT blocker. Testosterone is a hormone that converts to DHT. It then harms the hair follicles resulting in hair loss. This happens in both men + women. Red Clover will get into the hair follicles blocking this hormone from taking over therefore reducing hair loss.

 

Lemon Balm

Lemon Balm is our star ingredient here helping to balance and over oily scalp. Her mildly astringent properties help to “clean up” the scalp, reducing overproduction of oil and build up. Her flavonoid count helps to protect the scalp and hair from free radicals while her anti inflammatory benefits a sensitive and inflamed scalp. She is highly nutritive giving your scalp the daily dose of vitamins and minerals it needs to thrive. 

 

Pine Needles

Pine Needles are anti inflammatory making it a great option for people with skin conditions such as Eczema, Psoriasis, etc. Its antimicrobial factor plays a role in that as well helping to balance the skin's microbiome, which in turn will balance out skin conditions. Pine Needles also has mild pain relieving qualities making this salve great for sore muscles and stiff joints.

 

Broccoli Seed Oil

Broccoli Seed Oil is referred to as Nature's Silicone. It has a unique makeup of essential fatty acids and antioxidants that are unmatched compared to other oils. It is super lightweight and not greasy. It protects from heat and leaves a beautiful sheen and lightweight moisture benefit to the hair. It’s packed with vitamins and nutrients like A, C, E, B5, B6, B12, silica and many more, that are absolutely crucial to hair growth and health. 

 

Horsetail

Horsetail is a beautiful herb for the scalp and hair. It is antimicrobial, antioxidant and increases blood flow. It is high in minerals like silica and selenium which are crucial for hair growth and health. Also present is Caffeic Acid, a strong anti-inflammatory, which will aid in scalp issues that may go hand and hand with hair loss.

 

Hibiscus

Hibiscus is a hair follicle fortifier! It aids in “waking up” dormant hair follicles promoting hair growth. Not only does it help your scalp but it is made of amino acids, which is essentially Keratin, which is what our hair is made of, giving hair the extra fiber it may be missing resulting in stronger hair. It moisturizes and conditions preventing breakage and dryness. Hibiscus is a staple in any hair care ritual!

 

Avocado Oil

Avocado Oil is one of the most healing and hydrating oils on the market. It is rich in Vitamins A, B, and E as well as proteins and amino acids. Avocado Oil increases the skin's ability to absorb  its water soluble collagen content, meaning it supports the skin structure and collagen  simultaneously, preventing aging, regenerating tissues, calming inflammation and protecting the skin's barrier. 

 

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar can be for everything and anything! In terms of a hair rinse it balances our pH, closing the cuticle, outer layer of hair shaft, resulting in more shine, less tangles, less frizz and less breakage. On its own it is antimicrobial, anti inflammatory which helps with bacterial build up that can happen on the scalp. ACV is also the only solvent that can extract a potent amount of vitamins and minerals from herbs, which is why herb infused ACV rinses are like a vitamin infusion for your scalp and hair! 

 

Camellia Oil

Camellia Oil ,aka Tea Seed Oil, is another oil, like JoJoba, that mimics our skins sebum. It is super lightweight and absorbable to the skin. It contains Vitamins A, B, C, and E, highly antioxidant and contains a form of “plant collagen” (Squalane). 

 

Comfrey

Comfrey is an herb that offers much medicinal value. It is a super healer of the skin as it has the ability to regenerate skin tissue and rejuvenate the skin. It works wonders for inflamed, damaged irritated skin but is gentle enough to use on all skin types. Its emollient properties lends deep hydration. *Do NOT use it on DEEP open wounds as it is possible for the outer layer of skin to heal faster than the deeper tissues*

 

Calendula

Calendula is often referred to as the Skin Queen herb. It is a super healer in skin irritations, rashes, cuts, scrapes, etc. It helps improve blood circulation, is antimicrobial, anti fungal and works amazingly on fungal skin infections. She will protect and strengthen your hair follicles resulting in healthier, thicker and shinier hair!
